Hi, I'm Matthew, a software engineer and AI researcher based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I recently graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a First Class Honours in Computer Science.
I previously worked as a software engineer intern at Rapid7. I am currently working as a Cyber-AI Researcher at the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) in Belfast. My work focuses on a really interesting topic, testing the security and alignment of AI models in agentic environments. This involves using various combinations of adversarial attack methods, to probe for vulnerabilities in AI systems (security copilots, chatbots, etc.).
In my spare time, I enjoy working on personal projects and keeping up with the open source community, some of which you can find below. To keep active I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities, including going to the gym, playing football, bouldering, hiking, surfing and camping.
I love volunteering and giving back to the community, I am currently a leader at Live Wire, hosted by New Horizon and I also volunteer for churches in my local area.
